The 1970’s were an exciting time in the life of Donna L. Avery. In 1970, she spoke at the White House as a Home Economics expert. In 1971, she graduated from Hampton Institute and married Daniel E. Avery Jr. In 1974, she graduated from Georgia Tech with two Master’s degrees. In 1977, she gave birth to her only child, De’Adre.
